Context: With Singapore’s ageing population continuing to increase rapidly, it is important to design environments that support a more meaningful and accessible lifestyle for seniors.
By 2050, the ageing population is recognised as capable and independent, supported by lifestyles that prioritise health and connection. With technology enhancing everyday experiences within interactive community spaces, ageing is no longer about slowing down but about living meaningful and embracing continuous growth.
As one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the west part of Singapore, Taman Jurong has a growing elderly population and has spaces with potential to be transformed into inclusive, accessible environments that support active ageing, community interaction, and independent living.
